"I thought babies are supposed to have clear, soft skin. Recently, my 3-week old baby has developed what looks like acne. How do I get her skin back to the way it was?”
Symptoms Infant acne usually pops up when babies are between 2 weeks and 2 months old. It may last up to age 6 months, or it may disappear within a couple of weeks just as quickly as it came. Infant acne most often occurs on the face and can be in the form of small whiteheads. Causes Infant Acne is caused by the hormones in your system that the baby has acquired in utero or from your breast milk. Symptoms will usually disappear when the hormones are eventually cleansed from the baby’s system. Mistaken for Eczema
Cradle Cap Treatment Keep the area clean with water. You should not use harsh soaps or creams that can irritate your baby’s delicate skin; however, some moms have found that a combination of Aveeno baby wash and Aveeno baby lotion works well on acne.
