An alarm will sound alerting you to check your baby ONLY if she becomes absolutely still for 20 seconds and no movement whatsoever is detected.

The under-the-mattress Sensor Pad detects your baby's slightest movements and sends the signal to the Nursery Unit. The Nursery Unit sounds an alarm ONLY if no movement is detected for 20 seconds. It also transmits all other nursery sounds and has a Movement Indicator Light showing if movement is being detected. The Parents’ Unit receives the alarm and all other nursery sounds. State-of-the-art monitor enables all the units to share data and communicate with each other. If you change a setting on one parent unit, that setting will automatically be changed on the other one. Your crib must have a hard flat surface. If it does not, just place a piece of masonite or a board under the mattress and place the Sensor Pad on top of the masonite and under the mattress. place the correct side of the Sensor Pad facing up.

This product comes with 3 AC adapters, but it can also operate with 12 AAA batteries. Battery-backup gives parents that added peace of mind.
